Divar Orthopaedic and Skin Treatment Free Medical camp
A medical camp was held on 28th April 2013, at Divar island in North Goa from 10.30am – 1.30pm in collaboration with the Village Panchayat which permitted use of their newly renovated premises.
Free medical services were provided to members of all communities in and around Divar. Around 108 people turned up and were examined/treated by doctors – Dr. Mahendra Kuchadkar and Dr. Anupama Kudchadkar. Patients also received free medical advice in orthopaedics and dermatology as the doctors were specialists in these areas. There were 90 cases with orthopaedic ailments while almost all had one or the other skin ailments.
The objective was to assist the people in and around Divar who do not get proper medical facilities in the area or have to travel outside of the island for consultation or to get medical treatment. A need was felt to conduct awareness camps on ‘healthy lifestyle’ and, a permanent health clinic should be setup for long-term health sustainability
